It might be a bug (could be a feature?) but when I paste the link into Slack, Slack visits the link and then when a contact goes to download it, it's already been deleted. Love the site though. Maybe it's not designed for sharing

There's been wall-to-wall coverage on Australia's national broadcaster for days (and online). EDIT: Ah the parent comment has been deleted. It was saying that there hasn't been much mainstream news coverage of the New Horizon

Slightly OT, but what's the likelihood of Apple/Google integrating PGP natively into the OS? I know iPhone has S/MINE - but is PGP too much to ask?

An interesting take, and good to read some skeptical views. But the economies break down slightly if you are not paying 10c/kWh for electricity. In Australia we pay more than double that, even taking currency exchange into account. Als

LS have claimed responsibility for other services too though - HipChat, for example. It's unlikely all would suffer from internal issues at once. Though, as has been said before, anyone can claim responsibility. We'll soon see.

This is a really good point. I am not a programmer at all, but did learn a little bit of ASP.NET at university. I never use it anymore, but I ended up teaching myself PHP. I use PHP regularly, not to build anything grand - but it gets me by

There are many, many different takes on what is wanted. The Government's Communications Minister, the Attorney-General's Department, the Attorney-General himself and the police/spies have all said different things on what wil

It's disappointing that this has had very little coverage and/or discussion in the tech community outside Australia. I realise it's at a national level and therefore a domestic piece of legislation, but that doesn't stop

Thanks for that. Looks good. Pity there's no HTTPS though. Do you know/can you recommend any other OSM providers? Here.com is one of the best I've come across, but I'm wondering if there are any others.

This is fantastic news. It's a feature I've been missing since you introduced 2FA (which was also a great move)

Ubiquiti makes it easy. I set up a point-to-point link a few weeks ago using two of their cheaper antennas - it took minutes to configure the encrypted, secure connection - it "just works". I'd love to join a mesh network (or

Ah - that might explain why I had trouble trying to sniff the data for QuizUp too. I didn't know you could do that, so thanks!

Does anyone have any good "tick-offs" that you'd ideally have to meet before you could be classified as a PHP Dev? I had a look at the Zend certification link, and I know most of things on the list. It was surprising, because

How far would an always on VPN go to solving parts of these problems? At least it'd be encrypted to the VPN data centre. I suppose from there it'd be in the clear, but at least it'd stop snooping at an ISP level. Or am I miss

I agree. I've had to spend some time lately on the host pricing page for an AirBnB rental and I would love some more advanced features. I've previously thought about writing a little program that keeps an eye on the major hotels i

I've used the SIM900 boards a few times for a few moments with Arduino project. They are good and simple, but as you say not 3G (only GSM). I assume the 3G modules are different or not as in demand by Chinese manufacturers, which is wh

It's not free, but Fastmail would be my recommendation. I really love it. (If you look through my history, it's probably my most discussed topic) https://www.fastmail.fm/signup/personal.html $40 a year is $3.

Having made the switch to Fastmail a while ago, I agree with the comments - mostly. While Fastmail is fantastic, it lacks the implementation polish of Gmail. Two-factor authentication is there, but not via a popup like on gmail. You have to
