Ya, was even thinking the other day that I should just toss a few glass containers in my backpack when I'm going out to restaurants. I usually carry a backpack anyways, I'm not sure there's much value in me carting away lefto

I fry a fair amount of eggs over easy on my cast iron and get good results so it's definitely doable. I think preseasoned cast irons are fairly cheap these days although I picked mine up on Craigslist with a set. For the most part, cle

I feel like it's fairly common for scammers to show off a fabulously wealthy lifestyle real or imagined. For some people it makes them think "whose money did they spend to get all that?" and for others it makes them thing &qu

Zoning data and meeting transcripts generally are public? At least in NY that's been my experience. A lot of the rest I'd rather was private. Although it'd be nice to get aggregated data for certain crimes which currently are

Ha, what a world! I've known that Apple's actually been fairly competitive from a cost benefit analysis wise for a long time at the hardware level but it's very funny to see a comment associating Apple with being the cheaper

Ya, those are fair points. It would be neat to charge the EVs on the ferry ride but that'd probably be a bunch of energy or weight in order to implement.

I think that's also why a pretty small kink in the can will make it tremendously easier to crush against your forehead as a party trick :-) Or, more likely, it's a similar principle also at place in the design.

I saw folk swimming in the East River off of Queens here in NYC and I was really pumped. I may have to check that spot out this year. There's whales and seals again in the harbor too. It's amazing what decades of focused effort an

We seem to have regular fires in NYC now caused by folk daisy chaining Ebike and Escooter batteries to charge them. They seem to spread super quickly, be hard to extinguish, and release a lot of toxic smoke. 0 - Four dead at ebike store 1 -

This actually seems semi decent for a first go? 140 million in funding for seven more research labs (might be a different order but still neat). Commitments for cybersecurity funding (probably already happening anyways), independent auditin

The big banks were pretty stable in this last go around, and systemically it never really felt like there was much risk? So maybe some things are working?

Yea, seems pretty loose to assume those dollars would have generated three times the economic impact of the space program if they'd been left in individuals hands. Companies certainly innovate, but the government innovates a _lot_ (pri

Maybe, but what's the point in not generating 7 dollars of economic activity for every dollar spent, inspiring millions, and bootstrapping the process? If it was "basically a photo-op" it wouldn't have generated so much

I wouldn't worry too much about replacing the US Dollar entirely. We're pretty slow even to get rid of the penny. The US Dollar has a _lot_ of fans, I'm certainly one of them.
