Hmm, yea, the drug stuff seems a lot worse out West. I'm sure there are people openly doing drugs in NYC but they must be way out in the outer boroughs. You'll see people strung out a bit sometimes in Midtown though. But it's

Yea, this rings really true, and it's pretty frustrating that we can't do anything about Rikers cause of it. The abolish prisons before neighborhoods are actually safe thing is... ridiculous. You have to uplift the communities bef

Disagree. No one maintains change logs in their repos most times, so a linear git history where you rebase existing branches on top of their base branches allows for a clean commit history on new features to be merged in which can then be s

Yea doesn't the NYTimes have a section pretty much devoted to retractions? I'll see them in their morning news letter and I think it's pretty common at most news organizations with integrity to understand that sometimes they&

How much this brings to mind those old black and white newspaper cartoons with the big fat cat in a suit riding on the backs of the poor pulling out his pockets to show how empty they are.

You have had some very interesting experiences at JFK. I'm honestly always amazed at how fast I can move through security there. I just flew out recently and it took... maybe a half hour to check my bag and get through TSA security wit

Yea... but... wouldn't the Fort Myers area count as part of the middle ground that's fine? They don't get hit hard consistently. Should we say that NYC should be abandoned cause Sandy hit 10 years ago and another might hit ag

There's also the fact that if we don't subsidize places where natural disasters occur millions of people are going to start moving rather quickly. Everywhere's a disaster zone now, we need to account for that, do our best to

I think it's illegal in NYC to not accept cash and I fully support that. There are a lot of unbanked people here that have enough on their plates without further discrimination. And also cash is king and coins and bills are very neat.

I do most of my work in the terminal. I work on JavaScript/TypeScript projects. Soon Java, we'll see if I use the terminal for that. I love streamlining my ZSHell and ViM experiences by tooling around and have produced some nice s

People seem to have _really strong opinions_ about Apple. I’m in an IRC group and the people in there are great but then very tribal when anyone mentions Apple. It’s a little bizarre to me, the litany of things they can talk about. I’m pret
