AI is right about many things, impressively so. And people want to be special; to find meaning, purpose beyond the daily grind. The result wasn't very difficult to predict, more likely one of the driving forces behind the push.

Doing things faster comes way down the priority list where I work. We spend a lot of resources on understanding and improving the code, as well as breaking knowledge silos. Because the people running the show are experienced software devs,

Nope, not until AI is writing high quality, maintainable software; and no one knows if that's even possible yet.

If you think software development is cushy, I wonder what kind of software you're writing. Because there are different levels; getting something to work is not the same thing as writing maintainable, high quality software. I've se

Hello fellow programmer from the middle ages; we discovered long ago that significant whitespace is a dead end, the fact that it's popular with the wannabes changes nothing.

This doesn't sound much like an opposite to me. There are different levels of ADHD, and many are judged as stupid in school simply because they're bored and overstimulated at the same time. The rest of the traits described are pre

You're far from alone, it does make it a tiny bit easier to see which functions are expected to return null, but that's about it and messing around with it always feels like wasted effort.

Have you seen anyone being "cured" of cancer, the shit they have to go through? That's not a cure, it's business, creating return customers.
