Most DDoS attacks are not home connections with extremely limited upload speeds anymore. They are now reflected DNS attacks coming from legitimate DNS servers.

As someone who has tried more than 20 deals from lowendbox, the downtime and performance is completely unsuitable for anything requiring uptime. They are fine if you are using it for DNS, VPN, backup, or a blog you don't care much about. Ma

In theory maybe. In practice, makers are different people from polishers, and Valve's system of hiring the "best" (people with impressive CVs) and salaries based on stack ranking means there is a huge bias towards makers (Who brought the co

There are no bosses at Valve and they have a stack ranking system deciding how much money you make. This means people there don't do unglamorous things like maintenance and stability fixes.

Now this might just be my opinion, but considering many of the people I know in the technology field have a disposable income of around $1k/month, I don't think there's very many people that would throw away 20% of it on an image dump. If y

But all the incumbents have to do is lower their price just a little bit lower than Google, and Google will never make a return on the billions spent on infrastructure. That is why Google doesn't really want to become an ISP.
