There is some truth to this statement. Historically, work detail for prisoners benefitted society as a whole -- litter cleanup, public works projects, license plate manufacturing, etc.

Hard manual labor has long been accepted as an appropriate punishment for crimes. Prisoners are deprived of rights... by due process... by a jury of their peers. That's intentional. It's a feature, not a bug.

The author claimed that 90% was illogical; that it should have been closer to 98-99%. What the author failed to realize is that there are overhead costs in betting -- 10% rake, 5% withdrawal, etc. that cut into that 98-99% margin.

I agree that it gives off an over-engineered vibe. I think part of that is that a lot of the "Getting Started" docs don't give you a feel for how to use the framework. It's more along the lines of "install this pack

This looks more like a case study of program language use for a specific set of scientists. Can someone explain why Fortran remains popular within the scientific community and not elsewhere?

Lets be honest, the internet has always been full of Dogshit. Teachers have long warned us about using Wikipedia as a source. Fake news has always existed. Real news has been diluting itself with questionably true clickbait for years. The m
