Me too, sans the over use of "dude" - had not read it previously, so thanks. To me, it is actually a compliment of the highest degree.

This was actually relatively painless! Got it installed in a matter of a few minutes, with the multi-boot option. I downloaded a few apps and was happy to see Netflix work! Angry Birds too. Facebook doesn't even show up from the market - n

I'm willing to bet you've never tried any "mind-altering" drugs - alcohol included. Am I right? If I am right, don't ever try them!!! My feeling is that you're addicted to something else - and I would suggest that "something else" is much

Thanks for the response. re: "...wrote the content, ...., did the wikipedia searches...." --> my 4YO can't read or write! Damn HN, I always feel inadequate!

I have a four year old, and a five year old. My four year old is getting to be a master at Angry Birds, my five year old has no interest. I would be VERY interested in a write-up on how you went about this with your child. Step by st

What about the countless people that likely suffer from some form of problem like that described, that will never go see a psychiatrist, psychologist, or any other doctor about the problem because of whatever reason? Or, how about

Joe - there is a ton of opportunity near you - San Diego, Orange County, LA...I suggested Santa Monica because it's a hot spot of hot spots right now - at least for start-up oriented people. I mentioned CoLoft, because the owners are fanta

Seriously? You're in freakin' LA (or near enough to count - from your LinkedIn) - get your ass out of your house and in the streets. Go to Santa Monica. Go to CoLoft. Go to LASW (la.startupweekend.org). Go to any number of the numerous

Also, if it is an "Ask" entry (or any non-external url entry), pull down the contents with the result set and just show it inline, or query out for the item and show inside your app, instead of launching hn in a separate browser.

I downloaded it. Nice. Some quick feedback: 1. It looks like you are querying out real-time to bring back the list of stories. Why the need to modify/delete SD card content? 2. The default action, when clicking on a news item, is to take

I'm definitely "reflective" -- and had serious doubts about the article until I had an opportunity to reflect on it! :-) I challenge this statement based on the test results provided in the article: "Importantly, researchers discovered the

Chargebacks are a pain to deal with. I was involved in a business for six years, and had to deal with this situation on occasion. I noted a pattern: 90% of the chargebacks were initiated by AMEX customers. AMEX makes it very convenient

This is entirely dependent on what you do and what your goals are. Generally, I think it's better to be really good at one thing. However, this wouldn't hold true in certain roles (think Enterprise Architect, Systems Consultant, ...). In

I am curious to know if you're able to get any traction with this. There are a ton of newsletters out there that are free. The value in newsletters, as I understand it, is in building a large list and then getting the advertising dollars

I was thinking more along the lines of: if (func()) { a=1; } /* curly braces didn't count in your allocation of LOC, but they would in mine. */

That's awesome! I'm guessing it fits within what I defined - you look at the starting line number and the ending line number for code points in a function and the number should be <50 to 75 LOC. That includes inline comments (noticeab

I can answer this with a healthy dose of confidence: It was Mike Arrington. Passion is difficult to argue against. Why on earth he chose Uncrunched is beyond me, but I'll read along anyway.

In my experience, it's the size of individual methods/functions that determine the number of bugs. >50 or 75 lines of code per routine greatly reduces its maintainability and increases the number of bugs (often difficult bugs to track

Collecting on bad debt is difficult and time consuming. For the amounts you've mentioned, you can move on and make it up quickly enough as gp stated. If they don't want the work you've done, offer them a 30 day transition period so you bo
