I've been reading hacker news for about 18 months or so, and signed up for an account ~9 months ago. Since signing up, I've contributed a fair amount of comments. Interestingly, most of the comments I've put the most thought and time into

I want to believe you - it seems logical. But everything in front of me suggests they do not know how to price things! If you disagree with me, that's okay. But I have to believe they could have sold every single unit today for $200 to $

Better title: "A must read for anyone involved in software development!" I wonder if this will become required reading for CS students? I haven't read the entire contents, but browsed through a few of the chapters. REALLY GREAT WORK! Ver

Fair enough. I don't know "best practices" from a company perspective. I know from a consumer perspective that the frequency of updates is very relevant to the TYPE of application/service/... Examples: 1. Facebook/LinkedIn: Send me an u

I'll second the pre-sales role - it's the first thing that came to mind when reading your post before any of the comments. Sales Consulting/Sales Engineering/Systems Consultant --- they are all mostly the same type of role with different t

I read the wikipedia article - thank you. However, I think we are speaking of different things! Maybe, maybe not. I speak of true happiness. I look at the people in my life that live "a good life" and the people I see succeeding are tho

It's so difficult to launch your OWN product and I enjoyed reading about your experience and goals on your blog. I'm reading (again, this time to completion) "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People" and a phrase in it really applies to th

Too many AirBnb stories, and too many comments - so it's possible my input is duplicated. But I COMPLETELY agree with you. A month or two ago, someone was visiting SoCal (San Diego) and needed some help - I was about to offer him a place t

I, too, looked at the challenge and originally had the same thought. However, upon a second reading, it seems that there is a lot of room to misunderstand the requirement, which is almost certainly where the difficulty appears. For example
