Part of it is that we're mixing two things that are a bit arbitrary. How "urban" a city is and what the limits of a "city" are. Both of these are fungible by the community, as they should be. Urban living where I gr

The deploy-free rule updates are great - most email security systems do rules as a database to deploy to endpoints around the system to maintain performance. The risk portion of the presentation was also informative. The "undo" is

The startup I've been working at for the last 1.5 years has had the opposite experience, people are now flocking to linux, we're at just under 33% on linux. Also note 100% of development is using at least a virtualbox linux vm eit

GOOPS[0] in guile is definitely hugely inspired by CLOS, which also has generic functions with multi-method dispatch. I highly recommend guile to anyone who wants the battery included nature of common lisp. I know that racket is also a grea

I'm so excited for this. The power of org-babel is the common 'org table' format that can be used to interchange data between different languages. Has IPython thought about how to send data / state between steps without

If the table is too large, make it smaller by moving some of the data to a colder, slower, store. Whether that's json documents or text file gzips on 6x USB drives, data retention is mostly cheap. The question is, what information do y

Not just that, but the website uses HSTS so you can't connect to it without getting a certificate that your browser thinks is valid (at least in firefox, you can't create an exception from the main error page).

Overriding `read` is really neat! While I was reading this I realized just about any scheme implementation could probably override their `read` like this as well. Obviously racket as an implementation has focused on making this work well.

The RTP area has a large tech industry for the size of the area. SAS, epic games, redhat hq, cisco, ibm, netapp, emc, blah blah blah are all there. They also have incredibly shitty ISPs, and lots of land to build out other ISPs.
