I'm at a similar guitar-level as you, but I'm delighted by the site. The hardest thing about ascii-tabs for me is to understand the timing. This fills that missing link. The site is beautiful, and I'll use it, and even try to add a couple o

If I understood, the first 3 points can be considered as outliers. Typically, you do want to ignore them, do to them being mistakes in measurements or special cases. In any case, handling of the special cases does not do well for generaliza

Just to kick-off the conversation. The initial lecture model can be interesting for subjects where you typically listen to a "story" (history, biology, geography). Do you think it works for applied subjects, or for the ones where it's more

It actually has a couple of very good points. I know that faculties are actively considering introducing on-line courses. It's a good moment to cast in opinions and shape it. Does anybody else have comments on good/bad sides of on-line educ

No idea what she's actually working on (coding, design, pr). 1) at 14, it's a hobby. No stress, no pressure, no family, no obligations. I don't think her attitude can relate to 90% of HN readers. Her tone is ok for other 14yo, who should li

A-min. The problem is that the way we're using e-mails has changed, but the e-mail is still a good concept. I would keep it ASCII (ok, maybe UTF) and screw everything else. It was supposed to work like that and it does it just fine. The oth

I love the idea of treating web-sites more like applications. From a programmer's point of view - yes, keyboard should be a more utilized way of interacting with a web-site, beyond arrow-navigation and filling text-boxes.

I dislike the idea of authors submitting their own articles. It could be argued that the point was to produce an interesting debate on the subject on HN, but: 1) there is no news here, only speculations, which are, as hristov said, badly pu

I love the idea, and hope that Siera Diablo doesn't have too many earthquakes. With all of it's size and robustness, it still looks like a fragile thing.

You're right, I wasn't being constructive, but neither is this article if you consider that this isn't US-only. I'm also certain that millionaires also have a lot of personal problems, and yet also find little empathy from other people. I a

Maybe we still don't large enough concentration of any kind of ideas, let alone great ones. Cheerleading is useful, and you have the basic dos and donts in the article to stop it from becoming a bogus idea.

It's also true that the whole story still isn't over (10 years after the official end of conflicts), but I doubt that American public hears about it anymore. It's not prime-time material anymore. Still, nice to hear that someone is interest

Really, if I shot down a world-feared plane with a 40 year old equipment, I would be celebrating as well. Don't see any connection to the political regime there. As TriinT said - I don't think anyone else actually had a F117 to bring to the
