Interesting perspective. I’ve never used a REPL much. I did a bit of commercial Python and rarely used it there and I built my career on PHP, which kinda has one, but not a very usable one. I found the REPL to be a distraction. I just want

I’ve been taken on much longer rides than necessary in multiple cities. Las Vegas and Chicago are the first that come to mind. It’s also nearly impossible to know how much a taxi ride will cost in advance. The app and “quote” are the game c

You can kinda do this on your mobile phone (works on both android and iOS) by automatically silencing all calls that are not in your contact list. Works a treat for me.

The commenter your replying to is talking about "sweet" oil. According to this adage, US refineries are setup to process sour oil but in the US we drill for sweet oil. As a result we need to export sweet oil and import sour oil. I

Is there something special about GitHub on this? This seems like a Git issue and not a GitHub issue to me; unless I'm missing something.

Just a little farther back, however, and things ease again to audio tape technology. I’m still able to use my TRS-80 CoCo today because it used audio. I’ve adapted a cable to my digital audio recorder. It was built in about 1984 and it stil

I use and am happy with Dropbox. I was an early adopter of Google Drive (to try to save costs) and it never really worked right. There were lots of bugs with the syncing of data. My entire digital world is on Dropbox. I use (and pay for) Go

I’m so tempted to try this. I never wear a sport coat. Well, unless I’m in a suit, which is a couple times a year if I’m unlucky. I wear a short sleeve polyester t-shirt in black. I own a dozen of them, all identical, and wear them most day

I’m actually curious if this would work. Related, if someone asks me to help them set something up and I simply agree to the EULA, does it bind them to the EULA? Does it bind me? This happens all the time for me.

I miss AimeStreet. It was a site for independent artists that started tracks at free and then slowly increased them to $0.99 as they sold more copies. Amazon gobbled them up and shuttered the site. I’ve never found a replacement.

Maybe I could resurrect this old thing and improve it a bit. I imagine keyboard wouldn’t be too hard to add. I’ll have to take a look at the chords I put in the Dm option too, I don’t remember.

I write for my future self first, but comments like these are a good motivator… “Thanks. Great app. Perfect for what most of us needed. I lost 212 pounds using it. Just needed to track calories, not all the government nutrition stuff.”
