A couple days ago I started thinking that VS Code had slowly morphed into something that was starting to feel bloated. I took a look at Sublime, which I once loved, but the customization to make it look like I wanted seemed like too much. M

This is an interesting read. It seems to be relatively old but still relevant. Because it's old I did a search here first. It has been posted here before but it's been a couple years and I thought it was worth surfacing again. Pre

A couple years ago I built a web analytics tool that doesn’t use cookies (or any similar method) and doesn’t log IP addresses (or hash them). It simply logs impressions. I’m curious what this company uses for stats if they went so far out o

This is interesting and I've seen others use this short syntax, but it's never worked for me. In the case of Neat, one thing I lose is the margin-bottom of my paragraph tags when I don't close. There's lot of great feedb

Yeah, I agree with you. I'm torn if I should use the Github release process or not on this. The "Getting Started" section lists my own preferred way to download these files. Maybe I should just get rid of this zip file. That

Interesting that you mentioned my counter. It exists only in the index.html file on the neat site and NOT in the neat.html file that you're supposed to use for your own. It also DOES NOT log your IP address, set any cookies, or do any

I was hoping to find something like this mentioned in here. I’ve worked on a tracking tool that I don’t think does tracking of “individuals”. Instead I’m collecting stats about the site and impressions on its pages. It’s actually very, very

In Utah we use blocks from Main Street and State Street (to really over simplify). So, I live at 4475 W and 5500 S. Which is to say that I’m about 45 blocks West of Main Street and 55 blocks South of State street.

Funny story… Century Link got 500 feet of fiber pulled to my house, and I didn’t pay a dime. When they subdivided my neighborhood it was supposed to have fiber. All my neighbors had it, but not me. There’s supposed to be a major connection

As far as I can tell this was the 1200’s[1] and this doctor and author explained how to use a lot of our modern anesthesia such as opium, a few types of cannabis, and others. 1] ChatGPT says ~1218 while I calculated 1242, but I don’t know t

Although I’m not tracking my time specifically, I did recently look at my first and last login times in Slack. I was surprised to find a lot of days where I logged in very early and very late. I don’t think you can draw a lot of conclusions

I disagree. Amateur runners are runners. I was able to run two Ragnar relay races, even though I’m a 275lb dude, partially due to this idea. I don’t run anymore because of continued injury but I became a runner and did so for over a year. I

One of mine has a seized engine at 66k miles. I’ve been waiting 2 months for the pleasure of paying $6k for a replacement. It is hopelessly backordered. I plan to sell mine as soon as I’m able.

I’d rather have online support than phone support. I tried to reach out to Kia recently. In my case, I don’t want to call. I explained, in writing, using their online portal. They didn’t even respond. Strait-up ghosted me. Damn.
