I write for myself and it’s great. I often use my own blogged instructions to guide me later. And, as a bonus, others find my instructions helpful and let me know. It’s a great feeling.

Jim, I should have created this. I've failed a lot. Also, your domain name makes a lot of sense for me. :P

My first question was, where does “inventory.GetOil()” come from. Is this just a package that wasn’t mentioned? Not being a Go expert, are packages typically global like this? Would that be a good way to implement this function/method

This is interesting. I recently downloaded FreeCAD and abandoned it after just a few minutes. So, I think I can understand where this project came from. I have experience with 2D CAD programs like LibreCAD and CadStd and 3D geometric tools

Inkjets seem to have come a long way in the two decades I’ve been using lasers (non of which have needed replacement). I picked one up because I wanted to experiment with various artistic prints. The print quality on my 4-ink model is a lit

I’ve been wondering what the most repairable vehicle might look like, and I guess the USPS already put a lot of brain power into that problem. I presume this is ugly because it’s both purpose built and highly repairable.

I found the source more interesting. For example, I spent some time looking at badwords.txt and how the project used it. I took a look at the make file to understand how they are doing spell check, etc. I say leave the link alone for this p

It can. You can put a separate head in the printer and it can score the fold lines. I think you would have to make multiple files of whatever you want to score. I find that it's more trouble than it's worth to have it score.

I’m not sure if it’s what you mean but the Cricut Joy in the US will cut these out. It’s $150. The larger version is $300.

This readme could use a definition for those of us that don’t know qt creator. Here’s what I think it might be after reading half of this doc. LeanCreator is a lean cross-platform integrated development environment (IDE) based on Qt Creator

Consumers don’t read privacy policies so they shouldn’t be a major part of this. Something more akin to the nutrition label example they use is needed.

Where did these numbers come from? I’m really surprised that driving (0.07 fatalities per 100k miles) is not significantly more dangerous than commercial flying (0.05 fatalities per 100k miles). I always thought driving was much more danger

Is there a place to match with microfounder types? I’d love to build a business but I don’t want to build a billion dollar business. I also have no plans to quit my day job anytime soon. I don’t really know what the best idea is and need so

This isn’t directly related, but I stopped having dreams in my 20’s. I’ve only had a dozen in the past 20 years. I can still conjure up images of things and daydream but I don’t dream at night.

I built an “ssh shell” with this in mind. It’s actually just a hello world app that prompts for your name, because it turns out that’s all you need. Someday I may build a modern BBS via ssh. Yes, I’m aware you can use telnet, but I thought

Are you joking? iOS apps are big. I checked my top 10 results for “budgeting” in the store and this app is smaller than half of those. It does strike me as odd that apps are so big these days, but this one isn’t particularly large.

This has been going on my entire career, starting in at least 1996 or so. Maybe SanDisk was an exception? People have been complaining about this for a very long time so I don’t think it’s quite right to call it Shrinkflation. But, maybe I’

I did a similar fun project. I created my own slot machine. I made a small shelf like cabinet out of wood, set a TV on it in portrait mode leaning against the wall, added a few lighted push buttons, and dropped a Raspberry Pi inside. I neve
