Im very much pro vaccine, but this seems crazy. This is the government telling private businesses that they cannot serve regular citizens unless they have undergone a medical procedure, which is not even fully FDA approved.

Here is a more to-the-point article. https://www.unionleader.com/news/crime/free-keene-leaders-ar... Feds allege it was a money laundering operation.

As someone who works with PDFs a lot, please don't. PDFs are awful in every case except those which require a very precise visual layout. From reading the article, I do not see a single case in which PDF is superior to vanilla HTML.

This is exactly why tokenizers should provide offsets into the original text! The Spacy tokenizer provides this, though the original wordpiece tokenizer provided for BERT does not. It is relatively easy to add offset information to that t

I wonder how these numbers correlate to overall resignation numbers in all jobs since those seem to be going up too. I feel it’s part of the larger pattern of covid burnout.

But they evaluate on a test set while sweeping on a dev set, so there is no risk of overfitting to the test set.

I wanted to do something similar! I messaged my local library with a small proposal, but they never got back to me, very disappointing.

Seems nice in theory, though I'm immediately turned off by having to reach for special characters not on my keyboard.

In order to mitigate the second team winning because of fewer possibilities after guessing, the first team could plan to not guess any on the first round, and then use an 'infinity' hint on the second round.

The CDC is not recommending that all establishments allow people without masks though, it is only saying that if everyone is vaccinated then it is safe. If there is no way to guarantee that all are vaccinated, then this does not translate

I think as soon as you start looking at this as a spectrum question and not a binary question, this argument falls apart. Lets say console charges 30% to increase profit from -a% to +b% Lets say Apple charges 30% to increase profit from +x%

This is kind of silly. Neural networks are universal function approximators, meaning any function "is" (more accurately, "can be represented by") a neural network. In the DFT case, it is a linear function so we could g

This would have been useful for one of Jane Street's recent puzzles: https://www.janestreet.com/puzzles/tit-for-tat-index/ I ended up just grepping through a large dictionary instead.

Consider three neurons all connected together. Now consider that each of them may have some 'voltage' anywhere between 0 and 1. Using three neurons you could describe boxes of different shapes in three dimensions. Add more and

Yes I agree. This seems to be a continuation of the trends described in “Bowling Alone”. The book argued in 2000 that television was a contributing factor. It is probably further worsened by the rise in online entertainment since.
