I cannot count the number of times I have heard 'Well he would have done X except for Y' from Obama supporters. I no longer believe it - actions speak louder, and all that.

If these people can bring wealth and prosperity to a place and succeed where their governments have failed them, why would you not support them? They might fail miserably, but (as pointed out by others) this kind of thing has succeeded in t

I never stated the viability of the entire thing, just that many scientists do consider themselves religious, regardless of compatibility. I personally don't think they are completely compatible unless you are looking at your religion as

It's this kind of attitude that makes geeks / scientists generally disliked by the 'celebrity-idolizing' masses. My guess is the average person who would meet the qualifications to represent in the house (i.e., read, write, good standing

The last study on this I read said that only 20% of scientists believe that science and religion are in constant conflict with each other. So the pool is not as small as you might think, if that is your requirement.

You know what else scientists aren't? A group that can be generalized about that easily. Are you seriously willing to put forth scientists 'can tell no lies'? Do you have any evidence to support this generalization? As an earlier poster

This is obviously true, and ultimately meaningless. All organizations are composed of people, and I guarantee you that within even the most 'evil' organization is quite a few 'good people'. It doesn't make the organization any less 'evil'

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gypsy_(term)#Gypsy The word 'slur' is not mentioned once on that page. At best, its use as an offensive slur is context sensitive (at least according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ethnic_slurs ).

How is it a problem that credit cards exist? Credit cards are incredibly useful for two reasons, IMHO. 1. It's like having a proxy between your actual accounts and your purchasing. A stolen credit card is annoying and easy to rectify. A st
