What happened to their sheet music sharing website though? It seems like they're trying to extract money from the large back catalog of stuff people have uploaded to them. I have a hard time trusting this company with anything, let alo

I'd be surprised if this works for anything latency sensitive over anything more than a LAN. Even just the time it takes speed of light between NY and LA (4 10^6m/3 10^8m/s=1/75s) is roughly how long a 60 fps frame is (1

What were those 25 staff doing though? It seemed like there was only actually 3 full time staff working on the game, or so the article mentions (Notch, Jeb, C418). I can't find any good sources about who was on the team at the time, bu

I'm super curious on this too. I imagine at least a couple community managers and a PR person. So much of game dev is your community. Maybe a branding artist. Web dev for the website/java applet integration. It sounds like they we

Split up? They're not a monopoly in the phone market and only barely have a majority market share. I don't defend Apple's actions but I don't think this is a company-sized anticompetition problem. This is a regulation pr

I think at least forking and hosting it yourself if a good middle ground between forking into an Electron app. Who wants a tool they rely on to one day update with spyware, HTTP 404, or filled with ads (like Toptal did with keycode.info)?

Once a metric exists, it will become a target to live/die by and bend all sorts of human behavior to make it regardless of secondary factors. Feels like this is more of a human problem that hasn't become common knowledge yet, if i

Not time wasted if it was a lesson learned. And tbh, I don't think there's any other way to learn this lesson other than do it and reflect, I think anyone passionate for making things _actually_ better will do it at least once.

Isn't an IDS meant to be used in a LAN though? If you can craft a packet that special and hit this LAN device with it, wouldn't they have _way_ bigger problems than a dos?

Might help to have it on a schedule, like a thermostat has, or maybe more advanced like Nest does. Then it kind of tapers you into a sleep schedule. Wouldn't work if coming back from a late night out though

You still have to unglue the screen though. And it gets a 7/10? I really like the Dell Latitude 2-in-1 (tablet) as my Surface clone/replacement. It's held together by screws and it has had Thunderbolt for quite a while now!

The tone of this comment is abrasive, but I agree. I _thought_ IFixIt's whole scoring system was about repairability. Not performance, not best value but also repairable. Feels weird to just throw that out. Also how does this get a 7&#
