I'm still partial to LearnXinYMinutes[0]. It's how I learned enough MatLab/Octave in a couple hours to test out of an intro CS course. Usually I just use that site in addition to the official tutorial when a concept really st

But English is not fixed, at the domain-specific level. Domain-specific words are created, used, and forgotten all the time. This is to the benefit of communication/problem-solving and detriment to outsiders, juniors, longevity etc. (i

After the anecdote, the vibe I got of the article was anti-intellectualism applied to the programming field. I'm all for simpler, communicable code and APIs. But at the same time not everything can be solved with a junior-level techniq

What would you want more of our of that map? It looks like a lot of zoning maps I have seen but I can't think of any way to improve them other than consistency and a better viewing medium (not PDF)

This actually makes sense. Alcohol regulation is extremely complex due to the prohibition era. I imagine it's a nightmare to try to legally advertise alcohol over a interstate medium like SMS. This regulational complexity is the same r

This is for bulk senders. I imagine it's hard to negotiate a new contract with a different provider on short notice, especially if your reason for leaving is "ahh, we got fined too much for sending unwanted messages".

"Inappropriate content" feels so vague as to cover any objections T-Mobile could ever have with a bulk send campaign. Though I imagine T-Mobile probably doesn't care if you keep paying and customers don't complain.

Ah, I'm having sun problems in my new office too. I just draped a blanket over the window, but a two tier system like you describe might give me the best of both worlds

Ah, I had the same sort of issues with temperature in my office when I moved into my tiny home[0]. Sunlight was a problem too. Much happier in my new office, even though it's shared! Luckily our schedules don't overlap and dual oc

I feel with some niches this already happens. The art and monetization happen in lockstep. Partly, monetization is synonymous with release; a part of the consumption platform itself. You launch on Spotify and YouTube, monetization is alread
