I thought the expectation was for VC funded CEOs to take low salaries. How often do they sell equity in fundraising rounds and/or take decent salaries (500k+)?

Why is everyone disliking this statement about 8-10 hours a day? Excluding weekends, this is 40-50 hours a week, nothing outrageous. You're not that special folks, you have to work to get paid like everyone else.

I'm a recent grad of a good CS program. I know that I prefer written material to lectures, and my favorite professors were those who had written material (course reader format, not slides) covering lecture content.

The think about being 'rational' is that you can rationalize just about anything. It's like the balance of exploration and exploitation in CS...the exploitation is the 'rational' and the exploration is taking a chan

It's difficult to get an accurate perception of a team without working with them for a bit.

Eh. He probably just didn't like the team/felt that they didn't know what they were doing/they wasted more time on meetings and discussion in general rather than him just not wanting to justify his approach.

It's still a negative indicator of reliability. I'm sure the breakage rate for other devices also includes software related issues, and I would expect less windows update issues on a Microsoft device than a third party manufacture

Good for you. However, consumer reports gave a two-year breakage rate of 25% for Surface products. Given a 75% everything-is-ok rate, that gives you around a reasonable 25% chance (.75^5) that everything is ok with 5 devices, illustrating w

I have never seen an active work forum that was not about FREE FOOD alerts. This is likely flowery writing, and all you can conclude is that these forums do exist. That isn't surprising to me, in a company of tens of thousands of emplo

People don't consider reliability as much as they should when they buy a device. The Surface line has been known for poor reliability, with nearly a quarter of customers being affected for some products. The time spent investigating an

That would be a mistake because it also incentivizes hackers, making the problem bigger on that side. What I would like is something that punishes companies that get hacked as well, like set fines for leaking personal information instead of

Do you mean $400-$1000 per month or per year? And what is the quality of programmers in Cambodia compared to the US, if you have some opinion on the matter.

When you're brought in to add something at a critical time but instead push for bigger changes because of inability to work with an existing codebase that means they need to find a better programmer for the time being to do the role yo

Very true as well, and if that were plainly stated the problem could be addressed. The issue is that some of these people are smooth talkers able to convince managers that these big shifts are necessary right away...and inevitably end up ab

Agreed. I have a theory that the reason contractors want to change everything when they arrive is so that they have infinite work. I also always see contractors wanting to start self-initiated projects from scratch rather than working in th
