I have a motorized sit/stand desk that doesn't have presets. It's not that bad, but I do agree that it's probably worth spending a little extra on. I sometimes try to keep typing with one hand while I'm pushing the

In a "bad" part of town, maybe think of the people there as real people, and don't come across as obviously fearful. This has worked pretty well for me (although there are certainly other factors involved).

As a counterpoint, I'm from the US and I completely disagree with this. I never ascribed any such value to the "free market", especially when it comes to health care.

I'm not seeing "the herd" express this vacuous sentiment. Every time this topic comes up, plenty of people mention that digital is superior in an objective sense, and plenty of other people counter that the interest in vinyl

I feel like turntables never went away. It's always been cool/fun to have one. I don't know what it has to do with "hipsters". Is my uncle a hipster? I doubt it. And I'm pretty sure Real Hipsters don't sho

It seems that you've conflated "drunk" and "drunk driving". DUIs can be felonies, while drug possession is often only a misdemeanor. Also, killing or maiming someone (including yourself) can have a detrimental effec

Better test everyone for alcohol then, since drunk driving is more prevalent than illegal drug use.

REST only requires uniquely-identified resources. There's nothing in that stopping you from having a single endpoint that takes query parameters to identify those resources.

It doesn't sound like his beliefs were affected at all. In the end, she decided to get her kid vaccinated. He was playing the long game, and it sounds like it paid off. It seems to me that you're the one missing the point.

If you read the whole article, it's pretty clear that he hasn't missed any aspect of "the argument". From the article: "But vaccines only work when everyone buys in. Public health depends on anti-vaxxers confronting

There's just a bit of hyperbole in your comment. Most major libraries have been ported to Python 3. I wonder if the opposite of what you're saying will happen--i.e, the libraries that don't support Python 3 will be left behin

I think the only correct way to do this is via 'apt-get upgrade'. In other words, you probably don't want to replace the system Python manually, because a lot of utilities depend on it, and you might bork your system. Using v

Are you on Windows? I'm pretty sure the Mac version hasn't been updated in quite some time. I just downloaded a fresh copy, and it's the same version I downloaded a while back: 2.0.5.2.

SourceTree is really nice overall. To name a few things, I prefer its view of history, its hunk selection UI, and its commit message box (GitHub's is tiny and can't be made much bigger). It's also nice that it supports Mercur
