Completely agree. Sleeps quality of recording (not shitty, but not overdone) contributes a lot to their unique sound, including their earlier more "punky" stuff.

I'm a southern Louisiana (US "Deep South") native. Here, and in other areas of the south (and elsewhere in the world), we have similarly large "cicadas", which are basically giant crickets. They hatch once every 13

Off-topic, but if anyone has a chance to go tour the LIGO facilities, definitely take it! It is a very interesting experience, and highly educational, even for those that don't have a physics background. I've been to the one in Li

Note taken. I should clarify that the "however unfortunate" statement wasn't necessarily a personal opinion, but rather a response specifically to the original poster's opinion. Better-worded, what I meant was 'irre

For what it's worth, using the term "'Murica" in your post comes across as demeaning, and is thus inappropriate for HN. Given that the image is a product of an American-led project, it seems perfectly reasonable (however

Technically, the spread operator works with iterables [1]. If you wanted to spread an object `obj`you'd need to define `obj[Symbol.iterator]` [2]. [1] https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/JavaScri

There's a lot of confusion and concern in here about the release of a new major version very soon after the release of another major version (v4.0.0 was released just a month and a half ago). Please note that this is a special release

Mainly the upgrade of V8. The release of v5 so soon after v4 is a special scenario prompted by the odd timing of the release of the new V8. It's worth noting that v5 is not an "LTS" release (that is, it won't have the sa

I poked around your code; it's quite clean and readable! I've never heard of Avro, but it looks really interesting. Could you enlighten me on some use cases, and situations where it really shines?

Any unused money rolls over to the next month, according to Google [1]. I've been using it for months at $15/month and I've never seen it not use all of the money. I do use the internet constantly at work, though, and see ma

It could be argued that affiliate links on thewirecutter.com aren't ads so much as they are content. I realize they are advertising affiliates, but since that's what I go to the site for, I'm definitely not going to want to p

From my own experience, vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine) pairs quite well with my SSRI (lexapro). I'm not sure what most of the other substances in this thread are, or if vyvanse would even be considered a nootropic by any standard, but it h

From what I understand, Atom has a pretty big user base and it's getting larger. Now that they've squashed a lot of the bugs that plagued the early versions, it seems to be taking off. Note: I've been using it for over a year
