Both are available. Any app can request complete control over the system, at which point it can do whatever the hell it wants, short of root. Update? Sure thing, install an APK. Of course the user has to accept your huge list of permissions

Good luck with that.

So run SQL Server in a VM. Or MySQL. Or PostreSQL. Or whatever.

Another one: no McDonald's in Romania... except there are. I guess there are other countries too.

Sony Xperia S, probably others. Plenty of phones have non user replaceable batteries.

That's mostly a consequence of planes and skyscrapers having lots of people. The death count could as well be seen with a place accidentally crashing into the Empire State Building.

The certificate is issued for the domain, not the IP.

What if the IP is dynamic? Say an Azure Cloud Service.

They CANNOT use HTTP filtering as that would break on HTTPS.

To be fair there's little VB can do that C# can't. Including drag-drop GUI in VS.

C# 5 also has this, with the async/await keywords. The nice thing is that it works with older plain Task-based code (which was callback spaghetti).

Why can't some permissions be prompt-based, instead of always giving access to apps? Say for contacts, if you want to invite friend you'll allow access to contacts just now.

I don't understand one thing: how will this filter actually work? Say I use Google or Bing or whatever over SSL. All traffic is encrypted end-to-end. How will the ISPs know I am searching for a forbidden term? Are they going to request

How is it easily harvested in that case? Are you expecting bots to implement a full HTML & CSS parser? The comment above will not allow you to copy and paste the email into a to input; might as well use an image.

IIRC it's run by Microsoft Ireland in the EU. Even then, if the US would be to access EU-hosted data, with no real justification, the EU will not take that kindly. Especially private data.

The NSA itself has exactly zero power outside the USA.

I treat email in Gmail as publicly accessible, same for almost everything I do on the web casually. My business data lives in Amsterdam (Azure EU West), critical services we use are based in Europe. At least in my case I couldn't care

Define pretty poor. As someone interested in their service, seeing reviews saying "pretty poor" is worse than nothing.

ServiceStack is stuck on .NET 3.5 unfortunately. No taking advantage internally of dynamic or async; especially async. Kinda sucks.

Well you can use a filter and manually add sites to that. I did use OpenDNS a long time ago and it was pretty easy to filter the most common stuff.

AES is implemented in hardware now. RSA is cheap to compute; SHA1 is not even a factor. If you want forward secrecy, DON'T use DHE, use ECDHE; plain DHE is expensive. To be fair nearly all PHP forum software is crap.

Really? SSL is dirt cheap to compute these days. Google saw a 1% increase in CPU usage when they made SSL mandatory for Gmail. http://highscalability.com/blog/2011/2/10/dispelling-the-new... https:/

Not that it's particularly expensive either. A single domain cert can be found for a few bucks, a wildcard for under 100.

OpenDNS. Either use categories or pick your own domains to block. If you want to block IPs, use a firewall or the hosts file.

Forget Linux, Mac, iOS, Android, Xbox, PS will CERTAINLY not be supported if this is a Windows app.
