Check out the link above from Apple's website, the quote is from their extended warranty page.

I don't think anyone was prepared for this to be something that wasn't covered under warranty or, if it wasn't covered, so expensive. Where I work there is an insurance policy to cover laptop damage, they are currently in tal

At least for myself, I fully expected Apple to fix the laptop. I had read about these keyboards and their issues, I was really surprised when Genius refused to take it in for warranty repair. I suspect that if we had purchased the extended

I think this may have been lost in my post: the Genius at the Apple Store was clear and insistent when they diagnosed the issue with the laptop that the customer was at fault. It is my suspicion that Apple is trying to push blame onto the c

I don't think so... Generally all of the Dell's have an extended warranty and, so far, most of the damage has been covered under that. Where I work there is also an insurance policy to cover laptop damage, they are currently in ta

A co-worked of mine convinced the company to buy them a MacBook (the first the company has ever purchased) to replace their aging Dell laptop. They have been doing more and more work on the company's iOS app and the aging Mac mini the

I think the big difference between Panic's editor and VS Code will be that it's a native application, that it's not using Electron. In the past Panic has really set themselves apart by leveraging Mac OS, I don't believe

I would like to second this. This idea that everything will move more quickly if the same language is used on the client and server sides is compelling. But .Net or Java have been on the server side a long time, there are projects for which

I think things have very much moved away from the "one vs. the other" stance. Back in the late 90's, I think people really did think that they could spend time on an ORM tool and never have to think about the database. In my

There are much less drastic things that could be tried, but I don't see much political will for real change. We get a lot of talk, but few concrete plans.

The hospital or larger healthcare organization derives real monetary value from the prescribing of these tests, I don't think it all boils down to "cover your ass". In a lot of cases it's to charge more per patient.

Everyone's take-away is different, but I find the general argument that the cost of driving is hugely under-priced to be compelling. In my opinion this piece hits on a good example: the overall cost wasn't really appreciated when

When I think of a "desktop" computer, I think of a form-factor suitable for placement on a desk. I can stretch that to include a machine you keep under the desk or even a laptop that is attached to an external keyboard and mouse.
