The exemption only applies for Canadian companies, never to American ones. While it is true that you can use your family members' exemption, anybody who just gives away their exemption for free is a fool in my opinion. That is unless they k

My tax accountant never gave me details about it, but I remember him clearly saying that there were serious tax consequences in doing so and that generally, this kind of setup should be avoided. If your structure looks like this: YOU-CA -&#

My understanding of it is that as long as jobs are created, the success or failure of the project, and the ownership of IP doesn't matter. If a Canadian company was to contract out their R&D to another Canadian company, only one can cla

If you're about to overlook this because "it's just another damn static site generator", think again. I almost did, but I was very impressed with Statis! It sure is worth a look.

I just bought a Synology DS411j yesterday and I intended to run AeroFS on there. Unfortunately, AeroFS requires the JVM which I believe won't run on my NAS. (JamVM might with some hacking). Hopefully there'll be a solution soon because I r

Betting on such a small and unproven platform doesn't give you very good odds in my opinion. People who've been around the block a few times are usually looking for a bit more certainty than that. Not that anything is certain in the startup
