I was a customer of Slicehost from day 1, literally. I told everybody about them because Matt and Jason (the co-founders) were the most awesome company founders I had ever dealt with. They were beyond helpful and always went out of their wa

I doubt Digg (the company) would bother. They are having more than enough trouble keeping their own ship afloat. EDIT: then again, I wasn't aware of this: http://techcrunch.com/2011/01/26/kevin-rose-yahoo-contacted-...

The fact that it's only 0.02% of users affected doesn't mean the situation should be taken lightly. I'm amongst those lucky users and trust me, it freaking sucks. So far, it doesn't seem like Google cares much about us or is doing anything

Definitely not. Firewire is MUCH faster than USB2, and it's still slower than having a drive connected directly to SATA for example... This new technology should allow external drives to be as fast as internal ones.

This definitely solves the problem of slow, inefficient external hard drives. Especially with Firewire dying. USB2 is extremely slow for today's computing if you think about it...

If you could allow me to receive fax with the same kind of pricing, that'd be awesome. Whenever someone ask me for my fax number, I start sweating. It rarely happens, but when it happens, I'm stuck. Let me buy a "disposable" fax number for

This is also what I do. The really annoying thing is that Dropbox doesn't sync permissions. It makes bit mess when a file is 777 in Git, but Dropbox resets it to 644 (I think). This only happens when working on multiple machines. Hopefully

I ditched my 15" MBP for an Air and couldn't be happier. The SSD actually makes it feel much faster. I do the same kind of work as you do. I think you'll be very happy with your purchase. I already converted 2 people to the Air and they als

If it's really the case, it seems like your problem is that you're at a lousy school. College is the best time to meet smart people with whom you'll want to work with later in life. Don't underestimate this. This is something I didn't do an

Oh boy. I totally missed that. Thanks. I'm not sure a tagging system is the best option though. It's very flexible indeed but it's at the expense of the simplicity of checkboxes. Especially when many tags mean the same thing. eg: rails and

Great idea! It would be great if you could expand the areas of expertise though. For example, I have significant expertise with cloud computing, EC2 deployment, scaling, MongoDB, but there's nowhere to mention this. I also have expertise de

If it matters, there's currently A LOT of money in Montreal. VC funds are full and they're desperately looking for deals. If you have a decent team with a decent idea, they'll just throw money your way.

Thank you for your answer. I'll look into your software, it seems pretty awesome! You should however consider being more strict about host OS standards in my opinion. It would just makes our life a little bit easier.

You missed the point. The fact that CMD-P doesn't do what it's supposed to do was a big warning to me. One of the best things on a Mac is that every application uses standard keyboard shortcuts. For example, CMD-, always opens preferences

The problem is that this rarely happens. Concur makes software for the enterprise. What I'm saying is that I hope TripIt doesn't turn into an enterprise software. Most enterprise software are pure garbage.

True entrepreneurs can't really put their startup urge on hold. It can be a little bit dangerous. I believe good balance is a better, if not the only option.
