I've been saying the same thing as well. I think they'll get acquired before they go bankrupt however. Probably by Microsoft or Google (in this order). EDIT: I wasn't clear. I meant there won't be a Blackberry device in 2013, but I don't th

Good to know! I didn't realize 1.9.1 was considered stable.

I've never been so excited for an unstable release. 1.9.2's require was painfully slow without the patch. edit: by "unstable", I mean a dot.uneven number.

Siri would be pretty annoying and useless if it required unlocking the phone to use it. If it's actually a bug, I sure hope they don't fix it, or at least make the "correct" behavior optional.

There's a way around it. It's just WebDav. Here's how to do it on Ubuntu, it works just as well on my Mac: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/ubuntu/how-to-access-your-box...

I found 2 mistakes in Basecamp. There is a free plan and the cheapest one is $24/mo.

Why not buy a Thunderbolt external hard drive for your photography stuff? Do you need this data to be portable as well or could you live with it just at home?

I think the answer to this is to be very selective and unfortunately for them, turn down many many people. I think this would only increase the value of the meetup for those who are selected.

My prediction is that Facebook will be acquiring Spotify within 6 months. Makes sense for both parties, and last I checked, Sean Parker is a shareholder in both.

Basically, there was one guy I wanted to hire but I simply couldn't afford it at the time. I found the contract through someone I knew. That new employee was the only person working on that contract. The rest of the team never touched the p

This is genius. Great idea! We took contract work to pay for an employee at my last startup and it worked out pretty well (until they stopped paying). He would work for them ~2 days a week, and that would cover his salary for the whole week

I was just about to recommend that book as well. In my opinion, it's a must read for every entrepreneur. It made me realize a few very important things. Clearly, Netflix's CEO understand its principles and Blockbuster's CEO didn't

I'm more interested in knowing what PgSQL does better than MySQL today, in 2011. MySQL definitely has a few caveats, my question is mostly, is PgSQL now significantly better than MySQL or they're both more or less the same, with different p

A little bit unrelated, but as of today , what would be the advantages of choosing pgsql over mysql for someone who already has decent knowledge of mysql? Is it still a matter of preference (and being able to deal with the mysql license) o

They're simply moving their release schedule closer to Christmas, which makes perfect sense. Just imagine how many hubbies will buy their wife an iPhone 5 for Christmas! A June-July release means that people feel it's already "old" by the t

It may actually work, but if it doesn't, their only option will be to fold. If you end up work there, make sure you get plenty of options to benefit from a potential acquisition. Your risk level is higher, after all.

Most NAS have CPUs that don't easily run the JVM. I wish AeroFS could run on my Synology NAS. That would be the killer feature for me.

I'm trying to catch up copying the info from the original document. If you already entered your information in Writeboard, I'd appreciate if you could help me and copy it to the new spreadsheet. Thanks!

Concurrency problems and formatting errors make this list very hard to use IMO. At the moment, the formatting is completely broken. I have made a password-protected Google Doc spreadsheet. I think it's a better choice than Writeboard since

Is there something similar to this for the iPad? I really like the UI. Great work! Edit: I found this which looks similar http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/hackernews-for-ipad/id3648999... but the reviews are horrible, unfortunately.
