You can't seriously hope that reform like that will happen under the current state of the tea party. It's turned from a grassroots libertarian movement to Palin's branch of the Republican Party.

You're not going to find much cheaper than $14.60 (the price of keeping a micro instance running for a month.) Rackspace Cloud's 256MB RAM instance is $10.95, and there are probably a few random VPS providers here and there with cheaper ser

I'm not porting existing apps, but I'm using this as an opportunity to start a new one on a fresh system with a ton of tools available.

Historical fun fact: Flash Professional used to export Java, as that was the relevant runtime of the day. Tools evolve to meet viewer demands. Anyone else notice that "fun fact"? Sounds more like Adobe's way of implying that HTML5 might j

I saw one in the store, and the trackpad is at least "full sized" (compared to Macbook Pros) if not larger.

I can drop down to plain HTML without using any Rails helpers, and I can also use standard SQL for queries in ActiveRecord. This is probably the case for most other frameworks as well.

Why is Ruby last? EventMachine should work pretty well for most purposes I think.

"Designing Apps with Scroll Views" is a fantastic session, and anyone using scroll views in their app should watch it. Before watching it, I never knew how much I was missing in terms of how I was implementing them.

If you look closely, there's a noticeable change in opacity of the section titles. EDIT: Yes, in the Contacts app. The center of it gets lighter.

Do you think Haystack will ever be released to the public? If not, could you guys post a blog post on the GitHub blog or one of your personal blogs with more details? It sounds very interesting.

Google needs to see if they can allow unprivileged users to install it (it would presumably only work on the current user, but that's better than nothing.) I'd love to use it at school, but it requires an administrator.

Definitely this. Drag the dyno slider up before the show, then drag it back down once traffic returns to normal. If you need any sort of custom background process, you can start up some EC2 instances and access them over the fast, private A

This. We routinely have to decide which old repositories we can delete when we want to make a new one, and it's getting old. We don't want to pay $25 more a month just for a few more repositories.
