Actually, there is such a concept as usernames on 4chan. I forget what they call them, but using a special syntax in the username field that includes a password of your choosing, the resulting post will look slightly different and have a ha

Heh, that would be interesting for sure. I can't imagine any provider that would willfully do that. Once the public/server administrators found out, the provider would be ruined.

I believe that Posterous specifically made their theming language to be identical or at least similar to Tumblr's, so many themes are compatible and have been borrowed.

Google Translate wasn't engineered to translate single words, it was engineered to understand and translate entire sentences. It acts strangely when I try to translate Spanish infinitive into English, and I usually have to add "a " before t

Could you share some information about how your app code is structured? The main reason I'm using Django is because I like that it gives me a directory structure. The only examples I've seen of webapp are a ton of handlers in one main.py fi

Well, if you're transmitting data unencrypted, then there's a possibility of it being intercepted. You should be fine if you're developing on a local server or if you encrypt traffic.

Yeah, is there any technical information on how this would be done yet? Seems like I could just use DNS servers from another country if worse came to worst.

The certificates are unverified by a trusted certificate authority, so anyone can perform a man-in-the-middle attack by providing a different certificate to clients, allowing the bad guy to decrypt the information. (edit: clarified wording)

1: Github crew, can we get a way to use our API token or some other revokable token as a password for HTTPS repo operations? I appreciate that anything involving “revokable tokens” is really hard to make a decent UI for, but it just feels

This has definitely happened before. Last time I checked, almost half of the apps in top grossing were free. You don't think apps should be allowed to price their in-app purchases at whatever they'd like? Really?

It's not that big of a deal, let's not turn this into an "Apple is evil" discussion. Apple deals with this in their own apps (iBooks, for an example off the top of my head.) Every iPhone developer deals with it as well.

Not really. Most high quality apps are optimized for small touch screens, not 17" monitors with a mouse. And anyways, UIKit and AppKit aren't that similar, you'd end up rewriting almost everything.

I disagree with the documentation point. Type in any Ruby class whether it's a standard class, something from Rails, or a gem and you'll find a community run rdoc page with a ton of information on it.
