Heh, I was wondering what this was when I first saw it a few hours ago. I've seen 5-6 people I follow on Tumblr use this thing already. I suggest migrating it to Heroku. Push your code, copy over the database, and crank your dynos up. They

He didn't say that he was providing a full explanation, and he didn't blame it on Google DNS. He just shared what he did to fix the issue on his network.

Wow, finally a voice of reason in this argument. Just because you're in the highest tax bracket does not mean you have disposable income like Warren Buffet, Bill Gates, etc do. I'd think that most of the assets of people at the lower end of

I totally agree with this. TextMate is the best editor I've ever used, I don't really need a 2.0. That being said, I'm interesting in seeing what exactly will be fixed/new in 2.0, but I'm doing just fine without it and so are many others.

Nice, but Apple wouldn't be caught dead using Arial in one of their user interfaces. (The "slide to unlock" text in the screencap looks like it's using Arial rather than Helvetica Neue like it should be)

I want to do this, but I'm not sure how to handle authentication. If you were to do this dogfooding approach in a new application, how would you handle internal authentication (from your frontend) and also how would you handle customer auth

From the App Store Review Guidelines, 4.2 Apps that use location-based APIs for automatic or autonomous control of vehicles, aircraft, or other devices will be rejected Hmm...

Not only that, but no one has been able to nail the physics of it either. The elastic snap back at the top of lists (I'm not sure if Android has this, but the cheap Samsung phones do) is very unnatural, and slow.

It would be if that error meant that the app couldn't handle the traffic. "App crashed" just means that their code is doing something weird and the thin process crashed.

Also, isn't it completely filled to capacity? I think they're unable to refill Linodes there very often due to some reason like that.

A long time ago, scaffolding consisted of adding "scaffold" to your model definition and it would start serving up that data with the default scaffold views. Obviously that's not very desirable, so that's been removed and now the way to sca

django-admin.py and "rails" are the exact same thing, it's just that the Rails command line utility doesn't have an unnecessary Ruby extension. I'm not sure why "new" is a magic incantation while "startproject" is an intuitive command line

I'm not a great resource of Silicon Valley startup advice, but if you need any help with the technical aspects (such as rewrite rules so you don't have URLs that look like /~svstartu/index.php?title=Main_Page ;), or if you need a skin, Medi

Actually, Heroku has 1,000 people running node.js apps on their platform. The first phase of the experiment is over, but they're releasing the new version of it next year apparently. http://blog.heroku.com/archives/2010/9/20/an_update_on_h

What you're describing is exactly the problem. I don't want to worry about whether or not I'm exceeding some subjective limit, I want a hard number limit that I can compare to my actual usage.

Pivotal Tracker is fantastic. Free, extremely easy to use, productive, and they just re-did their user interface.

I applied for the Questions beta months ago, but didn't hear anything back. I have the non-Twitter-style publisher including a link to post a question, however it doesn't actually work. Quite strange.

Yes, it seems to be working very successfully. The tour of the new features that appears after one's profile is upgraded was great too. Here's hoping they follow this model for future features.
