> as long as users can still withdraw into a non custodial address Uh, that’s a pretty big “if”, right? It’s completely up to the custodian whether you can withdraw or not, and we’ve seen several large platforms freeze withdrawals recent

I haven't found a reasonable solution for multi-level dwellings; interested in how others address this. If you just have 2 floors, it's reasonable to purchase 2 of these bots; but if you need a third, it starts to feel excessive.

You can’t, no. One approach is a “debug sidecar” container in the Pod that has your desired tools. Linkerd, for example, will add such a container if an annotation is present on the Pod: https://linkerd.io/2.11/tasks&#x

Theres nothing about tokens on a blockchain that would prevent publishers from running this same “edition” scheme, IIUC. It would just look different.

Joni Mitchell's music is precious to me. There is something about her lyrics--poetic but folksy--that is so disarming and enchanting. Her songs always catch you off-guard. A friend introduced me to her album "Hejira" years ag

Earthly doesn't run containers, it builds them. You can use the resulting images with whatever runtime/orchestrator you want.

I think Earthly is a better replacement for make; but containerized builds are definitely slower (often to a disappointing degree). Luckily Earthly has a ton of knobs you can turn re: caching to make things suck less. https://ear

That sounds like a handy project! I agree re: zookeeper. It’s rarely been the part of the stack making me lose sleep. ~~Raft~~ seems like a way to “modernize” Kafka by detaching it from the Hadoop ecosystem — and I think that’s about it. :(

Or people just buckle the belt and then sit on top of it. As insane as that is, I've seen plenty of grown ass adults do it. An older person I knew went so far as to find a seatbelt at a junkyard, cut the buckle off, and leave it in the

Kafka has shipped the long-awaited ZooKeeper-free mode, but AFAIK it’s still beta and behind feature flags on the producer, broker, and consumer (like almost all Kafka config :( but that’s another story)

How quickly does RMQ ack the message? Obviously too long to delay an HTTP response, or you’d have skipped the DB part of this; but this seems kind of clunky. I know Kafka has (optional, tunable) acknowledgements for publication, for example

Federation is more fun IMO than the antagonistic, “trustless” crypto ecosystem. It’s also generally cheaper to participate in, whereas crypto nodes and miners will only get more expensive as it scales.
