I've spent about $100m on B2B ads in the last 12 years, including to developers. Overall the article is not bad but it's missing some things: 1) "LinkedIn Good for awareness, bad for conversion." LI can smash it on conve

The worst thing here is when developer leads have strong personal feelings about things. I've seen a company sabotage its own growth for years because a CTO was uncomfortable with Javascript tracking tags. When they finally relented we

That worked extremely well at a past org, I had a partner and we worked really efficiently. Until the project manager put a stop to any shadow dev work.

The trick is to use the no code implementation to learn what you need to build from scratch. Don't think of it as expensive time to redo - think of it as valuable work finding out what your org actually needed. I'm sure you know t

As a marketer, let me tell you how things go: 1) You have a marketing project that is speculative (as all marketing is). Say it's an API hookup and some automation between some tools. 2) You submit your project for prioritization by th

There's a bunch of very powerful/ successful AI girlfriend apps like Replika. I think that will be a breakthrough use case for VR.

Just so you know, most research nowadays says there's basically no difference in outcomes between which school your kids go to and future income/other life outcomes, after you correct for SAT score. You can send them to state or c

They didn't want retraining as mill workers. It was much lower paid work. They wanted their old jobs which didn't exist anymore. I agree that the government should absolutely take care of people who lose the capitalism lottery.

The kind of people who get PhDs can also figure out how to read academic papers on their own. There's a lot of correlation/causation mix up on this thread. For instance, people who get accepted into Harvard but don't attend h

Yes, and factories are a good thing for every other country as well. Why have 1b Chinese moved from rural farm life to city factory life? Because rural farm life is unimaginably shitty in pretty much every way.

The only thing that ever makes the human condition better in the long run is increased productivity. If luddites were left in charge we'd all be living like the 1800s.

Oh yeah, I think 90% of EU tech regulations are overall hurtful to EU citizens in the long run. But Apple acts very high and mighty in the tech industry and throws a lot of stones, so its nice to see Apple hit in their glass house.

Not surprised it happened in France, they are much more of a nanny state (in good and bad ways) when it comes to parenting. Like the fact that paternity tests are banned unless you have a court order, etc.
