I don't know, to me the C version is more readable. I know for sure that in the end the C macros will only do text replacement, whereas the Rust macros could do anything. And emojiis in code, really?

I was a mercurial user and eventually changed to git. I think from the perspective of a repository maintainer git was always the better choice. And those are the ones who choose the VCS. For most devs, that just want to commit, mercurial

Vim has really good language server integration via multiple competing plugins (vim-lsp, ale, coc.vim, neovim). You can use the same language servers from VSCode, which give you autocomplete, code-formatting, refactoring, etc. Not having t

I'm using a very similar desktop environment (mainly i3 + terminal + vim). What I really like about this setup is that it's compatible with every project I work on. I rearely have to learn new tools and I honestly did before spent

From what I did understand, that's not what the author of the article meant. He wants to enforce a style that guarantees exactly how the file is formatted.

That's what I meant by pleasing the code formatter. We all have seen those horrible codebases filled with linter-disabling comments. This is what happens if the rules are too strict. Also, code is already consistent by it's synt

I agree with almost all of this, but I heavily disagree with a code formatter that only allows one exact formatting to be correct. People will tend to spending their time pleasing the formatter until it does what they want. I am all for c

The engineers that build the new drainage system in 1975 did indeed solve the problem. The new problems are a result of bad city planning.
