So you split a big work into stacked branches (brach B3 depending on B2 that depends on B1). What happens when the changes on B1 are not accepted? You have to rewrite the entire branch stack.

Pascal isn't dead. At least here in Brazil it's widespread. I've heard in Russia and China too. Freepascal [1] is up and running, targeting a lot of platforms: x86-16, x86-32, AMD64, RISC-V (32/64), ARM, AArch64, AVR, JV
