For some with Intel or AMD X86 chips, Mr. Chromebox offers a BIOS that will allow another OS to be installed. I got a few more years out of Acer Chrombook with this BIOS and an 2.5" SSD upgrade. https://mrchromebox.tech/

Also, none of the open source alternatives support simultaneous multiuser access. Users can slowly adapt, but most businesses larger than a sole proprietorship need multiuser capability.

It was a "registration fee" as the UC system was intended to be tuition free The UC system stayed free of the word tuition that way.

I find Philips brand bulbs appear to have circuitry to "smooth out" the voltage and provide consistent light levels. I use my phone camera's slow motion mode to record my bulbs and see the flicker. Every brand I've teste
