The UX of the pass iOS app [1] vs. the Android app [2] (especially the need for OpenKeychain on Android) is the main reason keeping me on iOS. [1] https://github.com/mssun/passforios [2] https://github.com&#

I don't see how static AD removes the need to store the network state. Is this a fundamental property of static AD? Also, your statement sounds like pyTorch/TF are doing AD numerically, which is not the case. They build the analyt

Isn't the input of the layer fundamentally a part of the gradient computation? So even in this case (inspecting LLVM code) the computation still needs to look at the input.

While the UX may not be as polished, you can conduct polls in Signal via the emoji reactions to messages. You could simply count the number of "thumbs up" vs. "thumbs down" reactions.

I find the nomenclature in this article a bit weird. > Another disadvantage of backpropagation is its tendency to become stuck in the local minima of the loss function. Mathematically, the goal in training a model is converging on the gl

You could argue that flatpaks and snaps exists because Debian (and Ubuntu) aren't rolling releases, but desktop users want continuously updated software.

I always wonder if a paid Google One account is also under the risk of arbitrary deletion. Even though the prices are pretty cheap, I suspect the liability of Google is different once I pay for their service.

Assuming the sensor is 7 full moons across as indicated in their figure, the FOV is only 3.5°. In this case the plane at 15 miles distance is only 0.9 miles across.

Edit: Below is incorrect. They claim the total area is enough to capture 40 full moons, not that the sensor is 40 full moons across. Assuming a perfectly round sensor you could estimate its radius from that, but that's too much on my
