Spot on. Having one AWS account scares the crap out of me as well. It’s never a good thing if all your eggs are in one basket. My money is on stuff spread across Bytemark, Linode and DigitalOcean with a DR plan involving mostly automatic re

I notice the X-Y mode on my rigol DSO is crap compared to an analogue scope. No hope of ever running it on that.

I think we can bitch all we like and nothing will happen. International taxation is complicated and part of a multinational's business model revolves around exploiting that for shareholder gain. What this points to is that we need a ne

SPARC was the solution. It's open and royalty free and was sold by multiple vendors. Add to that Open Firmware and you're done. It's also not the hacked up turd that x86-64 is or the fragmented mess that ARM is. Problem is it

Yeah you can indeed. But that £8 includes next day courier delivery (which is free), a phone number you can actually call and talk to someone instantly, materials and tutorials on their web site and product support. They do a slightly lesse

I prefer pragmatist. I think we have the same goal really which is avoiding anything that is a commercial risk, money and time sink and that’s the status quo with this particular organisation even to this day.

Let’s be realistic. How many forks, other than a personal fork for patches, are actually viable? This is one of those attractive fallacies like owning a Tesla service manual. Complaining is warranted when you are a paying customer and you a

If you go to McDonalds and someone serves you a turd instead of a burger three times in a row, do you go back again? If IBM or Intel served me a turd, I wouldn't go back again. In fact IBM served me a helping of WebSphere once and I di
