I've had this problem and decided to test the problem away. Used a Vishay visible spectrum phototransistor and my scope. Think it was a BPV11 transistor. Philips bulbs are 100% clean. Poundland ones are not. Cheap no brand ones from Am

You can still get pre-LS TTL as well! Gets a bit warm that stuff.

Looks like I won't be owning any Apple products in 5 years then.

I agree entirely. However I'm willing to trade off convenience on this.

My daughter got bitten by this. Contacted Amazon and they refunded. Still selling them though!

Yubikeys tend to wear out your USB ports after a bit I found, at least on my X201 and the X61 that preceded it.

I'm not sure this is a major issue. End users are mainly concerned that when they wake up in the morning, lots of stuff hasn't moved. What it looks like and where it is to start with doesn't seem to matter as long as the UI i

There has. Especially from people who have been burned by trying to run the traditional persistent application model on AWS and finding that costs increase rapidly when you want some performance.

I made no such generalisation, merely stating my own situation.

Yes I know that but the interest and value in cars will decline and this will result in a lot of scrap vehicles. All the supporting industries like repair and distribution of parts will be bailing out way before then.

I am in a similar situation albeit in suburban South-West London. I bought a car in 2006 and it's still hanging on but I have no intention of replacing it. It gets used as a shopping trolley mostly. Literally every use case it had hist

Well that's going to be interesting. We're already reaching end of life for some of our older nuclear reactors, coal plants are closing as they are unable to comply with EU emissions regulations and we're basically propping t

We already use NTP (chrony) against the DCs. We did have some problems with timedatectl being a dick in the early days of CentOS 7 which reported NTP as enabled but it wasn't. That caused the same issue but we resolved that one and it

Im beginning to think that Microsoft's new strategy is to optimistically break all their products by adding the store front and telemetry to them. Neither of which are needed or wanted in the majority of cases.

You get mostly working Kerberos. It's not quite that reliable.

Let's just be clear that it's entirely OK to add telemetry to your code. The objection here from most of us I suspect is that it is on by default. If you package a tool so it does an unattended installation in some way i.e. via a

Defaults should respect the user first. Consent has to be given, not taken as a default. Sure ask up front explicitly but don't in passing invoke the first capture before consent has been taken. That's a shitty tactic.

This is one of my objections. There are also no test cases for this piece of code either.

This says that telemetry is the wrong solution then.

Coming from Europe, I'm a little worried by the general attitude here. We tend to side with privacy first. There are some real genuine concerns from real people like myself who have to work with this tooling. I'll detail my though
