I think the point is that serializing the entire react-router state into a redux store is in itself barking up the wrong tree, not that their approach is complicated or implemented in a buggy manner, per se.

I really enjoy Steve Losh's blog. I found his post[0] on returning to Vim during a formative part of my own career, and it really influenced my adoption of vim. He's got a great guide[1] on getting mutt set up on OS X for command-

Mega-dosing vitamin C is fairly common among alternative medicine practitioners. The medical community recommends an upper limit of 2g per day for adults due to mild laxative effects around that dosage. There's a paucity of trials that

In this regard, I think we agree very much! I simply wanted to point out that the specific example that they endogenously synthesize ascorbic acid wasn't a great reason for why this particular trial wouldn't be valid. Be skeptical

The dose makes the poison (or the cure). According to the article they gave daily injections containing 300 oranges worth of vitamin C (which google tells me is over 15 grams of vitamin C, an order of magnitude larger than the daily recomme

The GP was comparing cocaine to (substituted) amphetamines, which as with most dopaminergic psychostimulants also cause addiction via changes to ΔFosB expression. Hence, I'd say the comparison isn't incorrect, even if the GP'

It seems obvious, even to those unfamiliar with phonetics, how tonal languages are transformed into whistled languages by whistling the underlying tone contours. However, even languages with no phonemic tonality are able to be whistled beca

David is a great guy. Before Dothraki and his other languages for hire, I exchanged emails with him and he gave me a bunch of advice on my own constructed languages.

I'd say we're in agreement w.r.t. the first point. While configuration files seem to be declarative in that they describe the properties of something rather than the steps to build it, they fall prey to many of the same issues tha

While this looks stellar and having a serializable format is cool too, I am personally not a fan of gigantic configuration files as this. Being declarative is much better than being imperative and configuration files seem like a natural fit

In fact, it isn't. From a quick perusal of the github repo[1], it seems that the react devtools can mostly stand alone, and have wrapping shells that access the Chrome and Firefox APIs when necessary. Here's the plain shell: [2].

The birthday analogy is a good one, I'll have to keep that in mind. Your actual "birthday" being the points between year elements, your "age" as the offset from birth. As to the point about floor numbering, the situ

I'm curious to know what aspects of HTML5 you think harm UX and SEO. I was under the impression that overall HTML5 benefited search engine indexing through defining and encouraging the use of semantic tags and embedded microdata. Plus

As is now reflected in the comments on the gist, the tweetable version is minified by a tool and thus uses this optimization and others like variable name mangling.

It should be noted, however, that while many languages get by without explicitly marking definiteness, there are other linguistic techniques that can provide similar contextual clues that are required for understanding the pragmatic meaning
