Yeah, this looks like an optimizer wrote the program. I presume the code was tested against natural images... so it might not be appropriate for all image types.

Does your "reminified" CSS actually compress better under GZIP than any of the independent minifiers? The variance you were seeing looks to be irrelevant in comparison.

I am far from an expert on this... but. For most software, can ARM realistically replace Intel? If we ignore the obvious advantages of the intrinsic instructions found in most Intel chips... Intel has a really solid and reliable clock spe

A 'primitive type' is one which can be directly operated on by intrinsic CPU instructions. My understanding of Scala was that all objects (such as Long, Int...) are encapsulated inside of an object. Therefore an array of boxed ty

Functional programming for a lot of numerical computing maps easier to mathematical notation. However, Scala is usually a worse choice than Java for numerical computing since everything is a boxed type.

A significant portion of any real-world AI system is dedicated to extracting relevant features from raw sensor information. Doing that digitally has proven to have a very high cost rated in both watts and operating temperature. Most machin

I have tried to use Docker on very busy processing systems with short to medium running tasks. My efforts were on Ubuntu 16.04... because any non-LTS is almost a non-starter. There were two major obstacles; the file system driver and the Do

When you find that C++ templates are taking unacceptably long compile times, you often benefit from declaring an `extern template`. Some times I have CPP files which do nothing but declare `extern template` instantiations for types I infre

As a user who primarily uses SCons, I feel like my opinion of Waf is reasonably fair. 1. Developers trying to use Waf never realized that they were supposed to check-in the python BLOB into the repository rather than using a system package.
