http://kuler.adobe.com/#create/fromanimage that's something thats trivial to implement in Flash, but much harder with JavaScript I imagine.

Run the flash uninstaller on windows, it will remove everything. If you want to install an older version of flash make sure to restart first. http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html

I think they are planning on updating their tools to output HTML5, check out this video http://blogs.adobe.com/jnack/2009/10/sneak_peek_ai_fl_dw_can...

I'm taking the intro to Criminal Justice course this semester at my local community college at night, I've had 2 classes so far, so take this with a grain of salt. But in our last class we were told that the majority of wrongful convictions

I'm still confused here (Math is not my strong point either). He mentions he adjusts the income figures for inflation to compare 1975 income to 2001. He then mentions he adjusts house prices to inflation to compare 1975 prices to 2008. But

He does mention the tools and technology, he thinks Adobe will re-jig their tools to output to HTML5 and provides a link showing that this is the direction they are going with the next release http://blogs.adobe.com/jnack/2009/10/sneak_pee

This compares the median income of 2001 with the median house prices of 2008... while no doubt it illustrates a point, the numbers a likely off.

This only applies to the content creators, not the browsers. I think Mozilla will still have to license h.284 if they added support to Firefox as they are a commercial enterprise? Adobe has poured alot of resources into the Flash platform o

On VP6 is still the most widely used codec on the web... almost all live streaming is vp6. (Flash web cam chat is Spark codec). So the opportunity still exists for you or your sister to encode web videos for commercial use and have them pla

As a flash developer I can say that version 5 of flash is not comparable to HTML 5, the video tag equivalent wasn't really implemented until version 7 (HTTP progressive download of video assets). Some missing things from HTML5 I'm watching

Weird, I always looked at Adobe destroying the Macromedia culture, not the other way round? Look at the Flash Player Timeline http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adobe_Flash_Player the advances through versions 5 to 8 are spaced 18 months apart

I would love to see this, already you can use the Flash IDE to compile to the iPhone, so also being able to compile to canvas or HTML would be great, unifying the IDE to the current Flash IDE would be the way to go. I would love to be able

I'd recommend always using a black background in your flash movies. It helps to offset any perceived negative carbon footprint caused by the decision to use flash.

How is moving from Flash to HTML 5 going to resolve any of your complaints with a rich media experience? I loved this experience http://9elements.com/io/projects/html5/canvas/ but it's still a closed box and uses up 100% of my cpu (Win XP

I've seen and hired alot of $100-$125 an hour Flash Engineers in NYC who were in their mid to late 20's (Advertising) and I've also seen and know quite a few J2EE (Especially Tibco?) Engineers earning similar hourly amounts in Finance. Most

A bit of everything. Obviously the software vs hardware decoding of video is a major factor, but you'll also sometimes find ads/animation causing a huge CPU spike. This is almost solely due to a Flash Designer/Animator creating the flash mo

If you want to add alpha use the alpha parameter, don't specify it in the color value. The API makes a point of saying the color format is 0xRRGGBB. Use this instead: graphics.beginFill(0xFFFFFF, 0.5); //50% Alpha

Before adding the load balancer make sure you stress test your app to know where the bottleneck is (CPU, memory, disk, network etc). See if you can't double your throughput by some cheap upgrades e.g. if you are CPU bound on a single core,
