Exactly. It's difficult to blame US police for acting as though they're members of an occupying army when all of the people they meet could be armed with guns. I can understand why a policeman in the US would want to be equipped l

Thanks. There's no context menu option like in Windows so no one knows about this without googling.

Moved from Windows to OSX a couple of years ago after hearing for so long how much better the Mac experience and usability was. Some examples of why this was wrong: 1. Cmd-Tab lets me select a hidden window but it won't show it! 2. Man

A common misunderstanding. My wife is from a very comfortable middle class Polish family and went to one of the best universities in Poland. In her summer holiday before starting university she worked in a factory in the UK for minimum wage

It's a shame that the author felt the need to add the basic income proposal onto an excellent article about autonomous vehicles. They are both very big topics and warrant individual analysis.

At Durham University in 2000, "net send hello" at a Windows command prompt caused a message box to appear on every Windows computer on the uni network. I gave myself up to the bewildered IT department immediately.

Article says TI-84 released 2004. My TI-85 (on my desk right here) is from 1996. I bought it for my Maths and Further Maths A-level courses (England). It's probably TI's fault that I'm a software developer now.

I don't see what Carousel does that Dropbox didn't do already. Dropbox app already backs up all photos, allows me to browse them and to share them with others.

I might be completely missing the point (haven't studied probability since 1998) but go on then, tell me who's going to win the World Cup. Or just Croatia vs Mexico, which is starting now. Unless you can do that fairly accurately

It was obvious that Nokia should have gone with Android because of its popularity versus Windows Phone. Elop surely guided them towards Microsoft even though it was the inferior option. Imagine if Nokia had gone with Android two years ago.
