In my experience so far (Prius, 110000 miles) it is more like 5x. And the Prius brakes are tiny things, especailly compared to the huge brakes on the German cars I've owned in the past. The Tesla S is comparable to them in weight and handli

Brakes in electric cars receive vastly less wear than conventional vehicles, feels like literally an order of magnitude. They really only come into play at all during final stopping and emergency braking. The separate parking brake design o

It is probably unfilmable. Many things work great in our heads and don't translate when out on paper etc. in this case the internal monolog of the character is what makes it work, I haven't tried it but I'm sure if you looked at the story f

For non-techies Twitter achieves what they would use RSS for (notification of content) with convenient annotations. Yes they are very different, but that's how it works in principle. I doubt RSS will ever be completely gone, but the number

False equivalency is a major logical fallacy. If you aren't trolling you have some damage to repair in your brain.

Lip service to their citizens' rights only. They've already determined it is 'ok' to kill a US citizen with a drone purely on the presidential whim, and hold you indefinitely without trial.

The off-the-grid folks are surely on top of this. They also have the advantage of a 'natively' DC supply coming off storage batteries.

What are you talking about? Glucose and fructose is all you'll find. It might be sucrose, but it is all the same by weight and effect once it hits your stomach.

Exactly, the type of thinking behind that chart casts doubt and caused me to stop reading. Just getting to standing desks is a big leap for most cultures. And I say this as someone who had their treadputer setup featured on lifehacker 7 yea

Exactly. If there is anything lacking in grunt for what they want they should contribute changes back. A wheel re-invention plus big-bang "we'll not just replace, we'll make it totally awesome" is not a great move.
