Except that right now women who don’t want children experience a hiring penalty that men who don’t want children (and even men who do want children) don’t experience - due to an assumption that any given woman will take parental leave that

Break it down, then break it down further, into tasks you expect to take no more than 8 hours. Then multiply the total by 3. Seriously. When I was freelancing, I always used this method, and 90% of the time would come in 10-15% under budget

How strict is your employer about butt-in-seat schedule? If you have full flexibility, I’d suggest aiming to hit 40 hours on a weekly basis rather than 8 on a daily basis. That gives you the flexibility to work, say, 10 hours one day becaus

In species where adults raise their young, the young are typically hanging around with the parent for a while between when they're able to walk/fly on their own and when they reach full maturity. The parent sees/smells a pred

It looks like it was a short-term experiment (way shorter than the lifespan of a single individual). The actual paper indicates the "bootcamp" lasted 18 months. And they had a control with two pens, only one exposed to the pred

How big are you already? Growing from 3 to 13 engineers in a month is very different from growing from 100 to 110 (and even the latter would be considered hyper-growth, especially if recurring for multiple months). The former level of growt

When they email you a second and third time about the position that you deliberately ignored because it was such an obvious poor fit that you’d have reported it to LinkedIn as spam if there were a way to do so.

Sleep in particular occurs in cycles between deeper and lighter sleep, with different types of brainwaves at different points. For most people, these cycles last roughly 90 minutes. If you wake in the middle of a cycle, you’ll feel groggy.
