Agreed. A side note I want to add to this: copyright and other IP laws make sure a lot more money goes from Denmark to the US than from the US to Denmark. I think smaller cultural domains are loosing in a sense. European movie makers consta

I know atrocities happened, at the hands of Hamas, on oct7. I've seen plenty proof. The IDF's response was a reason a lot more civs died on that day than otherwise would have been (I believe). I want proof of the 40 babies story,

Its not showing any proof of things happened of that nature. We know now that a lot of the 1100+ that died in the oct7 attack were IDF. That the IDF shot at festival goes indiscriminately from attack helicopters. That the 40 babies story wa

I've long time stopped believing its about religion. Yes, religion is used as greese to get groups of people to "side". But the underlying reasons are --as always-- material. You think the "red scare" was actually a

Greedflation is a new word for monopolism. It not a monopoly or oligopoly this time, it's a more intricate network of multinationals, financial sector and govt. Best thing we can do is start worker coops to serve our basic needs, and s

Makes me think of once I was in bed listening to a house mix and suddenly I heard a remix of a track I've been wanting to re-listen since my child hood. No text, just melody. I jumped out, got on the piano and rev-engineered the melod

It's all about price. Attacking Linux will be harder, thus more expensive. You make it sound easy, if that was the case they'd launch one attack every few months or so. This stuff is expensive, and making it 100x harder means 100x

I'm not sure about that. But true, in that case only the fact that's not open source is still in the way of me giving it my "baseline safe" approval. :)

Possibly good for meta (if they were forced to do this by law, this means they did not want to do this them selves, which by definition makes it "not good for Meta"). Certainly not good for their user base, as (as many pointed out

Sounds like we need legislature to void these "customer non-compete clauses". Not holding my breath though, see what govts allows copyrights to become. Govts seems to protect (interests of near-) monopolies more than anything.

In Iran the copyrights of foreign works are not well protected. This lead to a lot of copying: western software and books are/were available for little more than the price of the writable CD-ROM or paper+ink you got it on. Translations

There also has been no apology for US' use of agent orange in Vietnam, nor has there been a payment of compensation. Why not formally apologize for such a fuck up (Iran aircraft), except for arrogance/exceptionalism?
