You need to pay for hosting right? Nothing new. Sure WP also has some freemium model, but I do not consider that shady. Have you seen the Automattic CEO talk (link to YT in other comment in this thread). I dont think he's in shady busi

Does the notice need to be public? They are fighting for a while, I think WPEngine knew what Automattic demanded (and hence could foresee what happens if they continue). They were/are probably already working on an alternative.

Do they have to state it? I think you simply get a phone call to pony up some cash when Automattic has you on their radar.

Interesting to see what a Windows-based project looks like. I haven't used Windows for ages. Seeing the .bat files and vsproj files gave me nostalgic feelings.

So what are the tech hypes that did end up being more than mere idiocy? SaaS? Cloud? Smartphone apps? Social media? Going back further: Internet? Wireless networks everywhere?

A lot of people like drugs, you want small amounts shipped to you by strangers, you need crypto. I've never tried it. But I've seen people on both sides (selling+shipping and buying) do it with acceptable success rates. This is th

Why dumb? Just a question to me, I gladly elaborate. If I loose a connection I used to get a little popup in the bottom right corner when I try to execute a query, explaining why it's not executing. They now popup in the middle of the

In other package manager there is no guarantee that the libs work together. Stackage test the whole ecosystem. You use Stackage X.Y (not libA X.Y + libB X.Y, etc). All other ecosystems there are some libs that do not work together well, and
