I hope support for git continues to improve for Windows. Git Extensions is not bad, and works well for me, but I imagine it's still strange enough to put off developers that don't have nix experience. I love nix, but Windows is a reality

He wants to watch a TV show, and there is not a way for him to do it at a reasonable cost. If he really is concerned about following the law, he would just not watch the show. He is not being "forced" to do anything; he is making a choice.

Most people don't need to be able to program at a professional level, but they do need to be able to intelligently use computer technology. I think learning a little programming can be helpful for gaining a better understanding how computer

I'm curious what would it take to overturn "settled science," or are you saying that is impossible. I was not aware that science took that kind of a dogmatic stance.

If we are going to reduce morality to the way a majority feels about an issue, then in a democratic society, does it make any sense to differentiate between morality and legality? Shouldn't the democratic process eventually result in laws t

This remark is consistent with an atheistic view of reality. Although atheists can be compassionate to someone hurting enough to want to kill themselves, ultimately what does it matter? On the other hand, if there is more to human life than

"The apple is sex because the apple is always sex." I can't speak for lit-crit classes, but I'll just say that in Catholic theology, the fruit (an apple is not mentioned) is not about sex. I suppose the apple=sex idea is another persistent

I would guess he's talking about the early 80s. I was in the same boat in that time period. I didn't have access to C until my senior year in college (1984-85) when we got a new Computer Science department head who was pro-Unix, and we got

I use Google Docs, and I like it fine. Apple is taking a different approach which takes advantage of the full power of a native app. The advantage of Google Docs is it works on any computer that has a modern browser. Apple's solution will n
