This [1] help article says that it's free. Not sure how much we should trust that though. Did you find a better source? [1] https://support.babbel.com/hc/en-gb/articles/13752043233170-...

The article clarifies that this would cover pretty much any website which allows you upload video, so minors would have to take part on YouTube, Facebook, etc. I guess the opt out would be to not use those platforms, but that seems unlikely

Interesting article. I have my own problem, that caused me to have to upgrade my iCloud plan, and thus may not be a high priority fix for Apple. If you shoot RAW+JPEG (not a super-rare thing to do, for photo enthusiasts) then Apple Photos l

I actually don't really use the social stuff all that much. I already have a mastodon account on a country-specific server, and I'm not much of an IRC/Discord user

I argue with computers for my day job, I don’t want to do that after work hours too. I’m happy to pay somebody else (especially Adam who is just so active with the community) a fairly paltry sum to do it for me.

I've been using Omg.lol for around a year now (Cian.lol) and am really enjoying it. It's just so simple - it feels like travelling back in time to when we wrote blog posts and made websites to share with our friends, not to Create

I remember trialing it a while back and gave up pretty fast due to the consistent very long delays when searching from Ireland.

While their security practices sound woeful and you did the right thing, why haven't you called your bank to unlock your card and give the feedback that the outsourcing is awful?

I’m in Dublin, Ireland. It is not common, but not uncommon. Kids and teenagers zip around high-footfall areas in the city centre (such as our financial district) on escooters and electric bikes, and literally grab the phones out of your han

The Fritz rhubarb soda is incredible and I wish it were easier to find here in Ireland. It’s everywhere in Berlin.

I feel that if you agree that "99.999% of what is out there is a scam for morons" then it's pretty tough to argue that the industry isn't a grift.

They do this for cycling directions in Apple Maps too. Come on Apple, you KNOW you don’t support cycling directions in Ireland - stop getting my hopes up every time I ask for directions. Just only show the button when you’re in a geo that s

As far as I know based on interactions in the owners form on Facebook (although I don't speak Dutch) he can't repair e-shifters, which are the most commonly broken proprietary part on the bikes.

Fairly old news at this stage, but worth pointing out for existing VanMoof owners that this doesn't brick your bike. Your bike can still be unlocked via the app, and via the PIN set when setting up the bike. Cowboy (VanMoof competitor)

My take on that at the time was that vested business interested didn’t want to see a direct connection made between cars, pollution, congestion, and wasting of space. I also suspect that VanMoof hoped to cause a stir to get more articles wr

If your phone battery dies you can unlock the bike by entering a PIN using a sequence of button presses. It takes about 10 seconds. I get that you might not see the value in the product, but please try empathise with those who might find it

This is the sort of marketing that I support. It's providing a service that has a clear value to the user, and is also god-tier trolling, all while getting us to check out their product too (without being pushy about it). I own a VanMo

When I was in college (over a decade ago) I worked in an Apple Store and one of my most memorable stories was trying to help somebody understand that an iPod (Classic I believe) wouldn't get heavier the more albums they stored on it. T
