Is it something that could be containerized? Maybe not as simple as a JS embed, but deploying a self hosted docker container is far easier than installing most things I've encountered.

ASU has a degree called 'informatics' that's run by the computer science faculty but focused more on <the application of technology to other things> rather than <the technology and creation of technology itself.>

Do you think some level of standardization of process would help apple as a whole? Would it help eliminate the relatively poor experience of reddit-OP?

I don't actually use any of this, so I'm not intimately familiar, but I found a promising looking framework and a help article on redux itself. https://github.com/zeit/next.js/ https://redux.j

Vue and react have SSR frameworks, as I'm sure many others do as well. I'm not sure if it's a big enough feature to include in the tags this site uses. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Seconded for Vue, I used it for a contract project for a year and was consistently blown away. Gitlab sums it up for me "Vue isn't a buzzword, Vue is a workhorse" https://twitter.com/gitlab/status/92

v-model is meant for use specifically with <input> tags, so your local component state stays synced with what the user sees. You can use it on components, but you're not meant to. In general, vue encourages you to avoid using t

Well, what would you have replace it? Like most things that become very popular, the web is becoming an os-like platform because it solves a problem. Putting your application at a URL is hugely more accessible than asking someone to downloa

On my screen everything static on the page fades away when you scroll, leaving just text and the admittedly very many images. Half the stuff on the front page of HN these days are medium posts, they all look the same

Seconded for a GUI. I've been using gitkraken for almost a year now, never looked back. (full disclosure: as of last week I actually work for the company behind gitkraken but I started using it far before I realized they were local)

Bits and pieces of the UI look like Visual Studio Code. If they took them from VScode, that's actually great, why reinvent the wheel when you can take advantage of the open source community you're a part of? EDIT: Lol I just notic

The vim emulation plugin has gotten better recently, IMO it's the best I've seen in a GUI editor. The undo history thing sort of persists because the vim plugin maintains a different undo history than vscode. They implement undo b

Taking advantage of what bootstrap has to offer requires writing your page structure with it in mind. It's both a method of structuring HTML and a CSS framework. I suppose you could pull out and compartmentalize certain specific featur

Yes Xinput is a pervasive standard at this point, to where there is a large market of third party controllers and software support in various linux distros as well as a JS api to access it in Chrome and Firefox.

Did the SNES controller become a de facto standard? Because the xbox 360 controller is one. There are plenty of xinput compatible gamepads from different manufacturers, the largest right now is Logitech. Xinput became pervasive because of P

People have a lot of very valid complaints about common core, but at its core (hehe) it does seem to attempt to start to remedy your complaint about US math education at least at the high school level. Hopefully that can propagate upward.
