Same, but slightly disagree about the UI, but can understand why it's not for everyone. I finally upgraded my ageing 935 to a 955 after 3 or more years and I actually find the 955 to be a joyous experience day to day for everything I n

For anybody that truly cared about picture quality above all else, Plasma ruled for many years. This is easily validated by going back to reviews/AV forum discussions of Pioneer and Panasonic plasmas around 2008 -> 2012. One big thi

I've still got a Panasonic plasma from circa 2008, which still seems absolutely bomb proof. It's only used occasionally now for some retro (Dreamcast or MisterFPGA gaming), but the picture, UI, remote and everything about it still

Same. It’s worth noting Disney only has a single plan which includes 4K, HDR, Atmos, etc, and in the UK is far cheaper - Netflix charge nearly £200 a year for their 4K plan (£15.99 x 12). Disney is less than half that on a yearly plan for £

Not sure why you are getting downvoted. There are so many basic fundamental things wrong there... A UI framework should at least get some of the very basic things correct with out of the box defaults. Bootstrap, for example, largely gets th

I absolutely agree with you on the surface, as I’m of exactly the same mind. However, I’ve forced myself to use a few shiny new things on projects over the last couple of years and it’s been a mixed bag. Some new frameworks like Vue have ab

I think that’s what I was ultimately trying to say at the time, but you’ve articulated it far better in one paragraph, than I managed to in five or six.

The person who nailed this best for me was Terry Smith, a successful UK fund manager (Fundsmith). He was asked a question at an investor meeting many years ago about why they thought it ethically acceptable to invest in British American Tob

It's not often these days that a project pops up where I start thinking about re-imagining our whole build/deployment strategy around it. This project easily hits that high watermark. I'm already thinking about how we re-arch
