http://www.google.com/ipv6/statistics.html Looks like it's growing rather steadily.

When I set up IPv6 I learned that you have to let some things through your firewall, like ICMP, because the IPv6 protocol relies on it. When I blocked everything like I did with ipv4, it eventually stopped working.

Huh, you are right. I was remembering wrong! Thanks for correcting. Now I remember why I installed F-Droid.

What would be your proposed alternative to engineer?

Around holidays Google Play Movies usually has coupons that let you rent any movie for 99ct.

Hello, I'd recommend you to change your recommendation to DavDroid. It's free and seems to be much better than the one you are recommending.

I'd recommend you to change to DavDroid. It's free and also on F-Droid.

When recruiters reach out to me, I just list them what I expect including salary expectation. If they still respond after that, then it is mostly worth my time. But I noticed hiring practices here in Europe are much better anyways than in t

So if I work at company A as a junior and get paid the same salary as a senior at company B, why is it bad that my expectation is to keep getting paid at the level of A even if I want to switch jobs? Or does your comment apply to fresh grad

I'd disagree with you in this part: >Another point missing is that sometimes there are very hard problems (eg. self-driving cars, fusion power, DNA pattern matching) that need solving quickly If you have let's say 5 senior devs

by chrisper 9y ago
>Senior devs have expectations around salary, growth and work. A Junior Dev will have them, too, though. Not the ones fresh out of college, but maybe the ones that already worked for 6 months or so.

I see. For a second it seemed you were defending Facebook!

Thanks to the union for that, I think.

Your situation is ok, because you want to tip. I don't think it is ok to automatically fill out the tipping field.

This logic does not make sense. Do you never repair anything in your home? Do you always just only buy a home if everything will always work 100%?

I love Repairability: -Then the device stays 100% under my control (don't have to wipe it before sending it to technician etc.) -I know I am repairing it. (You won't get it back with the notice it is fixed, but then nothing change

I think the issue is that their image (same with Lenovo) is heavily tainted by their cheapo consumer stuff.

by chrisper 9y ago
Yes, but just like with Lenovo, you need to differentiate between their consumer and their business line. Did they install the spyware on business computers as well? With Lenovo the case was only with non-Thinkpads.

HP is not jumping to my mind at all when I am thinking about user friendly companies. Are they changing their image?

You could also use Nvidia Geforce Now. Works quite well.

Ah thanks. Then my iOS analogy didn't work.

Are your choices based on hackability or something else?

But when it is full screen then you can't alt tab, right? You would have to use the shortcut to switch workspaces. Maybe I just remember wrong.

Cut & Paste is (was?) dangerous btw. Windows could lose your files: 1. Cut a file. 2. Paste it somewhere. 3. Hit control Z. 4. Cry because your file is gone. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum&#x

You sure you are not confusing it with iOS? That's where you always have strictly only one app in fullscreen! (Yes, yes. It is a lame joke. But who uses only one Window at a time? What is the point of that? Though I remember when I use

In the introduction video to VS Code Live Share, they showed the scenario of asking your coworker for help. Then together in the same editor you both fix the problem. I don't think it is meant that two or more people work at the same t
