Should be marked 2018. Even though the article is (oddly!) not dated, at the end of the article a correction is dated July 22, 2018

I always use self-checkout. It's faster (multiple servers, single queue), and works very well for me. Yes, you may need to learn some stores' quirks, but that's the same as with any user interface

I wonder if any early rock climbers used the sort of wood blocks to install pitons as Fred uses (most visible in Part 1). It seems like the wood blocks make the pitons a bit less destructive.

Laplace, Z, and Fourier transforms are all useful in studying systems with feedback. I'm an electrical engineer, and am not sure that I have used a Laplace transform since university, but I sure have thought about feedback and the sta

I have worked on synchronization, and couldn't figure out what the article wants to say. If you're interested in the topic, read Wikipedia articles about NTP [1] or clock signal [2] and articles linked from them. [1] https:/

If getting to LEO is "halfway to anywhere in the solar system" [1], then what is getting from GEO to a Lagrange point or to the moon? Let's say that you want to go to the moon, then does this spaceline save 25% of your fuel?

It sounds to me like you want an inexpensive basestation and a fully-open source software stack (at all layers) to run on it. And you want to set it up to run in a open band like 3.5 GHz. I like this vision! BTW, WiMax is obsolete :-)
